KINETIC MOTORSPORTS HAS HIGH HOPES FOR HOMESTEAD

March 11, 2009 - Buford, GA - Following an eventful opening round of the Grand-Am KONI Challenge series, Kinetic Motorsports is enthusiastic going into round two of the season this weekend at the famed Homestead Miami Speedway on March 14th at 2:30 pm ET. The first race of the season, the Fresh from Florida 200 hosted at Daytona International Speedway was packed full of highs and lows for Kinetics. With great achievements in the first round with two Kinetic entries finishing in the top 15 of the field also came a major disappointment. The excitement over the debut of Kinetics new BMW M3 E92 came to an abrupt halt in the first lap of the race when pro-driver, Nic Jonsson, was forced into the wall, totaling the car. At Homestead, Kinetic Motorsports will challenge the Grand Sport field with three BMW entries out of the 28 entry field.

Lance Willsey, who finished with a strong 11th place position with pro-driver Chip Herr at Daytona, will once again join the Kinetic team. Willsey will be piloting the newest BMW M3 in the Kinetic line-up, the 2008 E92. Fellow driver, John McMullen will join Willsey, co-piloting the #80 Exelixis Pharmaceuticals BMW for the first time this season.

Miami resident, Lee Davis, and Kinetic co-owner Russell Smith, look to build on the great 15th place finish they had at the Fresh from Florida 200 in January with a solid performance in the #33 BMW M3. Starting in their first Grand Sport race this weekend, both drivers have experienced the thrill of victory at Homestead's 2.3 mile course, winning the NASA 12 Hour event in 2007.

Rounding out the line-up and a force to be reckoned with are drivers Glenn Bocchino and Todd Lamb. Both look to rebound after a disappointing first round when electrical issues forced them to retire the #32 Cobalt Friction / Cybernation BMW early, settling for a 28th in-class finish.

"We are very excited about competing at Homestead for round two of the KONI Challenge.", stated Kinetic Motorsports Team Manager, Ed Hall. "We've had successes there in the past and have high hopes of landing a podium position this weekend. We've added key team members, fine tuned our strategy and with our enthusiastic driver line-up; we have great expectations for this race and the season ahead."
