KINETIC MOTORSPORTS MAKES CANADIAN DEBUT AT KONI CHALLENGE

June 15, 2008 - Kinetic Motorsports crew and drivers, Lee Davis and Russell Smith, make their KONI Challenge debut at the ultra-fast Mosport International Raceway this past weekend. Based out of Bowmanville, Ontario, drivers battled it out for 2:30 minutes on the 2.459 mile, 10-turn road course on Saturday.

Driving the #33, BMW 330i in the series' Street Tuner (ST) class, Davis qualified the car on Friday afternoon – 28th in class and 53rd overall, a great recovery overcoming challenges on Thursday.

"We had a motor issue on Thursday afternoon but the guys worked through the night, rebuilding the motor in the hauler.", said Ed Hall, Kinetic Speed Shop Manager. "The motor was back in the car for the first "official" practice session on Friday and the car was in great shape."

On race day, Davis drove for the first 1:45 minutes picking up nine spots overall. After a great pit stop, Smith took over and despite only having 14 green flag laps due to double cautions toward the end of the race finished 21st in class and 41st overall.

"The crew did their jobs to perfection during their single stop and both drivers had a drama-free race and did an outstanding job at avoiding all the accidents late in the race.", said Hall. "In fact, both drivers recorded their fastest laps of the weekend during the race."

Kinetic Motorsports next race will be at the ST class only race June 20-22 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. This event will be tape delayed on June 28 at 2pm ET on SPEED Channel.
