DESPITE WEATHER CONDITIONS, KINETICS HAS SUCCESS WITH DOUBLE HEADER WEEKEND

PBOC Pit for Enduro
Buford, Ga. - Kinetic Motorsports retuned this weekend from a double header with races at two signature tracks, Road Atlanta and Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, AL. Despite cold, rainy weather, Kinetic club racing drivers had a successful weekend. Grand-Am KONI driver Rafy Betances competed with his brother Tony at the PBOC race at Barber. This family combo raced in both the Endurance and Sprint races with their BMW M3's and celebrated top 5 finishes in the R4 class.

Kinetic's own Russell Smith and his KONI Challenge co-driver, Lee Davis teamed up again in the #33, BMW 330 to take pole and race wins in the R5 class. "It is always exciting to be on track and experiencing new conditions every time." said Smith. "The weather was not conducive all weekend but that's racing, you need to adapt and gain exposure to any and all conditions on the track."

A little closer to the KSS home was the PCA 15th Annual Peachstate 225 Club Race at Road Atlanta. Several Kinetic club racing clients hit the track which would prove challenging but exciting. Drivers Paul and Kim Gutowiski raced their #60, 1975 Porsche 911 and #59, 1996 Porsche 993 to top 10 finishes in the PCA sprint race. Paul also recorded his 2nd fastest lap ever at the grueling 12-turn, 2.54 mile track.

Long time Kinetic driver Fred Wicks had a challenging weekend racing solo in both the Sprint and Endurance races with his 1989 Porsche 944 Turbo. Fred was successful in completing both races despite battling wiring harness issues.

Rounding out the weekend was the family team of Brad, Phillip and Jack Gilsdorf. This trio raced in both Sprint and Enduro races and walked away with many great accomplishments. Brad finished 1st in class with his #143, Porsche 993 Super Cup car with brother Phillip snagging 2nd in class in his #160. Father Jack racing in the GT2 class finished 17th after a great come back from 45th position. "We have been racing over a year with Kinetic Motorsports, they are a great crew and we are looking forward to our next race." said Jack. The brothers teamed up on Sunday for the 90 minute Enduro race with an outstanding performance finishing 1st in class and 3rd overall.

Kinetic Motorsports next race is in the BMW CCA club race at the renowned Virginia International Raceway (VIR), April 18th-20th. Stay tuned to www.kssmotorsports.com for upcoming details.
