NIC JONSSON

Biography
A competitor in Grand-Am since 2001, Jönsson will co-drive the No. 76 Krohn Racing Pontiac Riley with Ricardo Zonta in the 2008 Rolex Series, and the pair will be joined by Darren Turner in the Rolex 24 At Daytona. Jönsson will also compete for Kinetic Motorsports, a team which he owns, in the KONI Challenge Series with teammate Chapman Ducote in the #79 BMW M3 Coupe.

Personal
Jönsson is married to Helene and has a son, Max. He is the co-owner of Kinetic Speed Shop in Buford, GA with co-owner Russell Smith, www.kssmotorsports.com. He trained the Swedish royal family and secret-service agents in high-performance and self-defense driving. He has a college degree in carpentry and a university degree in recreational therapy.

Racing History
2007

Claimed a season-best second-place finish at Barber Motorsports Park, and competed in all 14 races with Krohn Racing en route to 11th in driver point standings. Finished second in class in 24 Hours of Le Mans.

2006
Made 14 Rolex Series starts for Krohn Racing, finishing fifth at the Rolex 24 At Daytona. Finished all but two of 14 races in the Top 20.

2005
Made 14 Rolex Series starts for Krohn Racing, recording his first-career Daytona Prototype victory in Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen.

2004
Made two Rolex Series starts in the GT class, earning a best class result of eighth in the Rolex 24 At Daytona. Finished second in SCCA Speed World Challenge Touring class with one victory and four podiums.

2002
Made six Rolex Series starts in the SRPII class, earning a class victory at Phoenix en route to fourth in the class point standings.

2001
Finished third in the SRP class and 19th overall in the Rolex 24 At Daytona, his lone Rolex Series start of the season.

Early Career
Finished second in 1995 Formula Asia championship with five wins. Was factory test driver for Reynard, Andesign Inc. and Lola UK from 1994 through 1998. Won 1992 Scandinavian Touring Car championship with five wins. Finished second in 1992 European Formula Three championship with two victories. Won 1990 and 1991 Scandinavian Formula Three championships.  Also competed in the Indy Racing League and Indy Lights in the 1990s.
