Daytona Beach, Fla. - Kinetic Motorsports has arrived at the world famous Daytona International Speedway for its first official race debut in the Grand-Am KONI Challenge Series. Kinetic will field three BMWs all powered by Kinetic Sunbelt Engines in the three-hour event which is scheduled to begin on Friday January, 26th at 2:15 EDT.

In order to ensure the best possible results for the 2007 season, Kinetic drivers Boris Said and Kinetic co-owner Nic Jonsson are anchoring the effort with co-drivers Bryan Ortiz and Shawn Price. Tracy Krohn will also pilot one of the entries with Joey Hand in the event.

For Jonsson, who also competes in the Grand-Am Rolex Series with Krohn Racing in a Daytona Prototype, this will be a "first time event" as an owner/driver.

"For me this is a dream that will finally be realized once the Green Flag is waved and we are off racing," said Jonsson. I have been a part of motorsports for a long time but never with a team that I was part owner of. Russell Smith and I sought out to get the best drivers for our effort which debuts this weekend at Daytona and we feel that the talents that are behind the wheels of our cars are some of the best in the business. We are all hoping to have a clean and great experience out there on Friday and we couldn't be happier competing in such an exceptional series."

Boris Said who is scheduled to make an anticipated formal media announcement with Kinetic Motorsports at Daytona on Thursday shares his teammates' enthusiasm with the upcoming KONI Challenge race.

"I am extremely excited about the debut here at Daytona," commented Said. "I am also incredibly eager to get back to racing and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to do so with such a cool looking car. Kinetic did a great job with the BMWs both in appearance and in preparation for this event. As with all teams, we have our work cut out for us but if we can get a top-three or fourth place finish we will be very happy with the results. Obviously we are hoping for a win but we will just have to wait and see what happens."

Kinetic Motorsports' Grand-Am KONI Challenge multi-car effort is anchored by Boris Said and Kinetic's own Nic Jonsson. The team will strive to achieve its first championship this season.
