the Grand American Koni Challenge |
Buford, Ga. - Kinetic
Motorsports is heading for the Grand American Koni Challenge
in 2007 with some impressive cars and driver support. BMW
M3s will be the chosen platform, powered by Sunbelt engines,
the same engines that won the Championship in '06 and will
be anchored by Boris Said and Kinetic's own Nic Jonsson.
Kinetic will compete in the Grand Sport class within the
series made up of cars capable of 405 horsepower with performance
modifications and full safety systems. The effort will
be run out of the 42,000-square-foot Kinetic Speed Shop,
owned by Russell Smith and Jonsson, based just outside
of Atlanta.
"I am extremely impressed with the business that Russell and Nic have
put together," said Said. "I feel the program we are all embarking
on will reflect the exact same image that Kinetic Speed Shop is already known
for. I have had a lot of experience driving BMWs and look forward to supporting
this new team during 2007 and beyond."
Since its inception, Kinetic Motorsports set about bringing
together a team of experienced, seasoned professionals
from different racing backgrounds. The organization currently
employs drivers with world championship experience, NASCAR,
Nextel and Busch Series team management history and 24
Hours of Le Mans and Rolex 24 Hour winning crew and mechanics.
The perfect lineup for success.

Said Will Help Anchor Kinetic's
Effort |
"For the last two years I have been a Crew Chief
for other teams and I am looking forward to doing the same
with our own program," said General Manager, Ed Hall.
Working with two pro drivers like Nic and Boris gives us
a legitimate shot of doing well and running up front. I
would like to bring my NASCAR background to the team in
order to make the program both exciting and successful.
Things are looking good so far and I think we are on pace
for a good first year."
Jonsson, who currently competes in the Grand Am Rolex Series
with Krohn Racing, added his thoughts about the new Kinetic
endeavor.

Jonsson is Co-owner of
Kinetic and Will Also Support the New Koni Challenge
Effort |
"I feel very excited about being able to put together
a pro effort for Kinetic," said Jonsson. "For
me personally it has been a dream of mine for a very long
time to do this with Kinetic and take it into professional
racing. I hope that I can bring my years of experience
to the program and help it be successful. I am thrilled
to have my friend Boris Said on the team which will add
to our competitiveness on and off the track. With BMWs,
all powered by the Championship winning Sunbelt engines,
there will be great opportunities for me to work with some
great drivers and for Boris and I to pass on some of our
knowledge to some up and coming drivers that will want
to race with us. The positive energy is already flowing
around the shop and I know that we are all eager to go
racing in 2007 with Grand Am."
Kinetic Motorsports is willing to work with potential sponsors and drivers who
may wish to utilize this unique platform to achieve their goals during 2007 and
we begin in January at the Rolex 24 at Daytona. For more information about this
opportunity, please call 770-271-1577 or email sales@kssmotorsports.com.
