Kinetic Speed Shop Hosts
the Final Peachstate PCA Concours of 2006 |
Buford, Ga. - Porsche
Club of America (PCA) members were on site at Kinetic Speed
Shop this weekend for the last PCA Concours event of the
season. Entrants and spectators enjoyed a great day of
competition, weather and food at the shop located in Buford
Ga. Some of the finest Porsches in the state ranging from
1959 to 2006 competed in different classes on Sunday for
individual awards as well as the over Judges Choice presented
by Kinetic Speed Shop.
Prior to judging, Kinetic's own Bob Sanderson and Steve
Cosgrove manned the grill and provided all with some excellent
BBQ with all the classic sides. All in attendance enjoyed
the spread and with full stomachs, the judges embarked
on the difficult task ahead.
The entire event was held indoors at Kinetic where each
owner could bring their car in from the elements and conduct
final preparations on their Porsches prior to the 2:00
pm cutoff when the formal judging began. PCA judges were
allowed five minutes per car to search through and around
each Porsche looking for even the smallest speck of dirt
or fingerprint. Each infraction, if any, was subtracted
from the total point value available leading to the top
three winners in each category.

As an extra bonus, Kinetic
Speed Shop offered a best in show award dubbed the "Judges Choice Award." A
group of six Kinetic employees assembled to judge each
Porsche based on a set of criteria created just for this
event. The judges focused on everything from paint and
body to the condition of glass and wheels. After an hour
of scrutinizing, Kinetic presented the "Judges Choice
Award" to Hal Corbin whose Porsche Carrera S came
out on top.
"I think it was a great day for the PCA members as well as for all at
Kinetic," said Kinetic Speed Shop Co-owner, Russell Smith. "We are
a proud national sponsor of the PCA and always look forward to participating
in as many events with them on both national and regional levels. I know we
all had an incredible time looking at these beautiful machines and I want to
thank the Peachstate PCA for partnering with us for this event!"

"I feel very excited about being able to put together
a pro effort for Kinetic," said Jonsson. "For
me personally it has been a dream of mine for a very long
time to do this with Kinetic and take it into professional
racing. I hope that I can bring my years of experience
to the program and help it be successful. I am thrilled
to have my friend Boris Said on the team which will add
to our competitiveness on and off the track. With BMWs,
