KINETIC SUNBELT ENGINES COMES FROM THE BACK TO TAKE 6TH AT SEBRING

Sebring, Fla. – Coming off of an outstanding showing in Thursday’s qualifying session for the SPEED World Challenge Touring Car Class, teams supported by Kinetic Sunbelt Engines took their places on the grid for the always exciting standing starts at Sebring International Raceway.  Kinetic Sunbelt was representing eight cars in the field and boasted four top-10 starting positions.

Kinetic Sunbelt teams overcame several on track incidents to finish with two cars in the top-10, with six cars maintaining positions within the top-20 and one in the 21st spot after the Checkered Flag fell on Friday’s race.  Charles Espenlaub, driving for Tindol Motorsports was forced to start the race at the end of the field per World Challenge rules after changing tires prior to the wave of the Green Flag.  He managed to come all the way from dead last to take 6th place.

“We had a good run and a good start,” said Espenlaub.  “Everything ran flawless.  By the time I was able to reach the lead pack the tires were gone which kept me from possibly gaining even more positions.  Hopefully we will have an even better run next time and again show what that Kinetic Sunbelt power can do!”

Kinetic Sunbelt Engines Managing Director Jim Thompson commented on the day’s events.

The race didn’t go quite as well as we had planned,” said Thompson.  “We were hoping for a podium finish but the incidents kept our cars off the podium, that’s just racing though.  I want to congratulate Charles for driving all the way from the back to 6th.  All of our engines performed very well.  Putman was hit and his car eventually overheated slowly running hotter and hotter after the incident but everything was running very well before the then.  I want to thank all of the Kinetic Sunbelt guys especially Rob and Ed for doing a great job getting us prepared for this season as well as the hard work here at the track. We are excited about the next event and hope to grab that podium next time.”
