The basic structure of Club Racing involves a national PCA Club
Racing Committee, the PCA National Office, and the Regions. The
PCA Club Racing Committee maintains the Club Racing Rule Book,
determines the Licensing Procedures, and oversees all the planning
of a Club Race. One or several Regions organize each Race, and
have full financial responsibility for their Race. In addition,
each licensed racer receives Club Racing's official bimonthly
publication called the Club Racing News.
Club Racing was established
around several guiding principles. First, there should be a
class for all Porsche sports cars, including both street and
modified cars. Second, the racing is to be fun, safe, and clean.
This principle is embodied in the strict enforcement of the "13/13 Rule", which provides for immediate sanctions against
any driver at fault in any incident involving car damage. Third,
the organization and operation of Club Races is to be uniform,
so that any racer may attend any Club Race and know exactly what
to expect. For more information please visit www.pca.org |

The principles of PBOC have been putting on events for over
12 years. PBOC organizes 11 events a year at tracks including
Sebring, Homestead, Barber Motorsports Park and Road Atlanta
with a membership of over 800 people. Racers and driving
enthusiasts come from all over the US, Canada, and Europe to
compete in the club that was originally for BMW’s and Porsches. However,
there was also interest from other club racers and driving enthusiasts;
therefore, PBOC began including other marques as well.
PBOC only puts on driving events,
and the weekends always consist of both high performance drivers’ school
and racing. The
emphasis is on having a fun, safe, family oriented weekend for
driving enthusiasts. The racing is run under vintage rules,
strongly discouraging car to car contact. However, the
officials realize that this is racing and sometimes racing incidents
occur. The
officials have the ability to impose or not to impose penalties
based on driver conduct and racer feedback. The largest weekend
is at the end of January each year at Sebring and is known throughout
the US as Winterfest. For more information please visit www.pbocflorida.com |
