PERSONAL PROFILE: Jim Thompson began his motorsports career racing his own ITS Datsun 240Z in the early 1990s.  While working for the Nissan IMSA team, he met the previous Sunbelt owner and began working directly for the organization.  After several years, Thompson decided to purchase Sunbelt and from there went on to win several championships including one in Grand Am Cup, two SPEED World Challenge Championships, six Show Room Stock Championships and a D Mod National Championship just to name a few.  Thompson now serves as Managing Director for Kinetic Sunbelt Engines and lives in Lawrenceville, Georgia with his wife and three children.
